Small Groups

   

Girls go to the bathroon together, people lift weights together, running clubs form, bolwing teams gather...we are pack minded people.  Spiritual matter are no different.  We are pushed, reminded, strengthened, helped, spurred by others.  Everywhere you go in the Bible, people are being brought together to grow.  Just being together is not the end purpose, but their purpose (spiritual growth) is only fully realized in being together.  The model we have is that being called by Jesus means we are called into the body (1 Corinthians 12) where we are an integral part of the whole.  Being connected to each other then prepares us to live our lives everywhere we go and to live with a purpose beyond getting through another day.

In community we support one another, defend one another, serve one another, carry one another’s burdens, submit to one another, and forgive one another…the list could go on-these are all found in the pages of scripture.  Doing any of this means we need to be around one another more often than once a week in worship.

What a great way to be transformed and help others transform lives!  Helping people get connected to one another around Christ and the Bible at the center.  Community Life groups are designed to get people together, to study and think through things biblically, together.

Community Life is God’s word among God’s humans, together in our lives-We are better together!

Community Life groups are set up around 7 cycles in the year:

Sabbath (rest) cycles where groups are encouraged not to meet and church wide service and fellowship events will prevail.

Church wide cycles where groups are encouraged to study a curriculum that all groups do together.  This keeps us all on the same page, and reminds us of our larger community.

Special Interest cycles where groups are gathered around a common interest together.  Different topics will be selected by host/leaders and from congregation feedback.
